Working to Keep Us Rural

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

If you want to help Keep us Rural" Please support my campaign for re-elections. We need volunteers to wave signs, get neighbors to put up lawn signs, and help install both small and large sign. We also need volunteers to be at the polls during early voting and on election day to pass to the word to vote for Bob Hartmann.

HOST A HOUSE PARTY

A quick meeting outside your house for 30 minutes is a great way to help me meet your neighbors who care enough to look a bit deeper than a lawn sign.  Call me at 954-801-1758 to schedule some time.

CAMPAIGN BUZZ

Town Council is attempting to lower 2022 Property Taxes.

The Town Council has set a maximum millage property tax rate lower than last year. Additionally, they requested the town administrator and finance director to find additional cost savings to lower non-ad valorem taxes further and help offset the effects of inflation on our neighbor's personal finances. We have three additional assessments on your Truth in Millage (TRIM) notice. The annual fire,  bulk waste, and solid waste assessments. These three non-ad valorem costs are contract based. The fire assessment is based on the public safety contract which covers the Davie police, fire, and EMS contract plus costs for the SWR volunteer fire rescue department.  The bulk and solid waste assessments are based on our new trash contract with Waste Management. These are competitively negotiated contracts are showing market impacts based on high inflation and other market conditions.

Hartmann identifies trash, recycling, and bulk pickup as a key issue in the council race

Over the past four years, the most frequent complaint I get from residents is the quality of service we get from our trash hauler. I got a lot of feedback, made it part of the new contract discussions, and made sure that quality of service was a higher priority in the selection of a new hauler. Waste Management will start trash pickup on Oct 10.
